delicious frustration

I have two things to talk about in this post.

Thing One:

I did buy that corset I mentioned in my previous post.  I got it with the main ribbons red and the background (triangular parts) in black.  I'm afraid I got the idea from the inestimable Katrina Transdoll after seeing what it did for her figure:

I was afraid I might offend by borrowing someone else's "look", but I have since seen a few other dolls wearing the same corset, to I guess I am not committing too great a faux pas.

I deliberately ordered a little too small for my present waist line. You see, I've been putting on a spot of padding around my middle during the past year, and I need a motivation to get back in shape.

The corset arrived last week, and I tried it on that same evening. It really feels and looks quite lovely, although the way it was laced when it arrived made if awfully difficult to put on by myself. I will either have to re-lace it my way, or get my partner to help every time I want to put it on! Not that having her help would be a bad thing. However, my way of lacing does not support the eyelet edges of the corset when it is closed as well as the traditional way. So it is only suitable for corsets with strong stays in the eyelet edge. My old black one does, but it wasn't constructed as well as it might have been. I've had to repair it once already, due to a steel bones tearing its way through one hem. And it has not busk which means it needs a LOT of extra lacing installed. So I've looked over the Heather corset, and it has one bone on the inside edge from the eyelets, which seems stout enough. So I'm going to try my lacing patter and see if it doesn't make it a bit easier to pull closed. If not, I'll try putting some silicone on the laces, although that makes them hard to hold onto...

Speaking of lacing up the corset brings me to...

Thing Two:
Last weekend I started a large tattoo project. Never you mind exactly where, but suffice it to say that it's in a place where almost anything I might want to wear in the way of doll clothes or just plain latex fetish wear, would be covering it, and that's no good while it's healing. It will need to heal for three weeks before it will really be safe for me to wear something that might irritate it. That includes latex, since latex clings to the skin, can wrinkle and (rarely) leave a bruise, plus it confines one's sweat against the skin, and that's not good for what is effectively an open wound. Unfortunately, this means that I follow the aftercare instructions to the letter, I will not be able to wear anything fun until January 10!

I am not sure I can hold out that long. It seems to be human nature (or is it only my nature?) that the loss or denial of a thing is when you appreciate its absence the most. Now I'm longing to get "all dolled up" and I can't for two more weeks! If I don't cheat after, oh, two weeks maybe. We'll see.

I will of course put pictures up on my Flickr pages as soon as I have posed in the new corset, and I think someone asked me for closer or better shots of my red and black boots, so I think I'll try to accommodate that request at the same time.
